Data transfer
We are aware that when you purchase a new computer you need your music, pictures, work etc.from your old computer.
Wintech offer a service to do just that. When you buy a computer/notebook from us, £35 & VAT will get all your work and settings transferred.
This makes the transition so much easier.
Items that are normally transferable:
- Your work files (Word, Excel etc)
- Photos
- Music
- Address book
- Email settings
- Internet favourites
If you have compatible programs on your old computer that you want on the new computer, you will need the original discs and any required licenses.
Reloads
After much use it is sometimes better for us to reload your computer from scratch. This allows us to reinstall Windows and get the latest drivers for all your extra hardware like sound, video etc.
What we do
- Backup all your work, emails and accounts, photos, pictures etc. onto a separate hard disk drive
- We then load all your Windows, programs, settings, updates, drivers, and copy all your previously backed up data onto one of our hard drives.
- Then we check this is all working correctly.
- Now we clear your own computer's hard drive.
- Next we copy the fully functioning system back onto your Hard Drive.
- Finally we run a diagnostic to make sure all is working well.
Cost for this is £80 plus VAT.
